Zucchini Halwa Recipe

The most popular traditional Indian dessert comes with a healthy twist! This halwa recipe has the goodness of zucchini cooked with khoya, milk and sugar into a delicious halwa. Garnished with a cherry and a malai on top, enjoy it with friends and family or make it as a dessert for a dinner at home.

Zucchini Halwa Ingredients

  • 1/2 kg of zucchini
  • 1/2 liter of whole milk
  • 60 g of ghee
  • 1 teaspoon of cardamom powder
  • 120 g sugar
  • 125 g khoya
  • to garnish the cherry and kesari malai

How to make zucchini halwa

1. Wash the zucchini properly.
2. Raise zucchini to medium thickness.
3. Add the zucchini and milk to a heavy-bottomed saucepan and cook over low heat until all the milk is absorbed.
4. Add the ghee to the pot with the cardamom powder.
5. Fry for 4 to 5 minutes over low heat.
6. Keep stirring continuously.
7. Add the sugar and cook for another 4 to 5 minutes.
8. Add the grated khoya and cook for 10 minutes over low heat until the ghee starts to come off on the sides.
9. Keep stirring in between.
10. Garnish on the top with the cherry and pour the malai.
