Ragi Idli


Ragi Idli using whole Ragi are steamed vegan & gluten free breakfast/meal made using nutritious whole Ragi seeds also known as Finger Millet or Nachni.

Ingredients of Ragi Idli

  • 1 cup semolina 
  • 1 cup ragi flour 
  • salt to taste
  • 1 cup curd
  • 1 cup water
  • ¼ tsp baking soda

How to Making Ragi Idli

  1. Dry roast the rava on medium flame.
  2. Cool them completely.
  3. Take a bowl and transfer the dry roasted rava.
  4. Add ragi flour, salt and curd.
  5. Add water.
  6. Soak for 30 minutes.
  7. Add a pinch of baking soda and mix well till it turns frothy.
  8. Brush the plates with oil and pour the batter immediately into the idli plate.
  9. Steam it for 10 mins on medium flame.
  10. Allow it to rest for 5 mins then unmould.
  11. finally, serve hot with coconut chutney and sambar.
