Jowar Medley/Upma


Enjoy a light snack, the guilt free way! All you have to do is take a cup of jowar seeds and mix them up with ginger, corn, zucchini, pepper plus a dash of salt and pepper.

Ingredients of Jowar Medley/Upma

  • 1 Tbsp rice bran oil
  • 2 tbsp mustard seeds
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 15-20 curry leaves
  • green chilies
  • 1 tbsp. ginger
  • 2-3 baby corn
  • 1 tbp peanuts
  • 1/2 zucchini, chopped
  • 1 red pepper, chopped
  • 1 yellow pepper, chopped
  • to taste pepper
  • to taste salt
  • 1 cup jowar seeds

How to Make Jowar Medley/Upma

  1. Soak the jowar seeds overnight and boil it in the same water for 15 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, curry leaves, green chilies and ginger.
  3. When the seeds splutter, add baby corn & peanuts.
  4. Add the zucchini and fry.
  5. Add the red peppers and yellow peppers.
  6. Add the salt, pepper & cooked jowar. Cook well.
  7. Garnish with coriander leaves.
  8. Serve hot.
