SEGKBF 2024 Angler of the Year has been announced!
The Angler of the Year (AOY) title for Southeast Georgia’s kayak bass fishing community recognizes the highest level of achievement among its anglers, celebrating their skill, dedication, and passion for the sport.
Angler of the Year Honor
This angler honor is awarded based on a series of tournaments held in various waterways throughout southeast Georgia, including Lake Sinclair and Clarks Hill. Throughout the season, competitors accumulate points based on their performance in each tournament.
Angler of the Year Marvin Santana
SEGKBF’s 2024 Angler of the Year is Marvin Santana. Marvin is from Augusta, Georgia and his favorite spot to fish is Clarks Hill. Marvin has devoted himself to this sport, not merely as a hobby but as a way of life.
In order to prepare himself for a kayak bass tournament, Marvin pre-fishes the tournament location and studies waterway maps to find specific areas to fish.
As the competition unfolded throughout the year, Marvin’s commitment shone brightly. Each tournament was not just a test of skill, but a showcase of his growth as an angler.
He earned every point, battling through scorching heat, muddy waters, and anything Mother Nature threw at him. He remained undiscouraged, reminding himself that each challenge was an opportunity to learn.
